Off The Street Club is a boys and girls club in one of Chicago's most dangerous neighborhoods, West Garfield Park. In the Hope is Tougher campaign, Energy BBDO acknowledges the brave choice that these kids make every day by coming to the club.
As an art director/designer on this project, I created a website and numerous print pieces for the Holiday Luncheon including an invitation that is sent to advertising agencies across Chicago.
For the Off The Street Club website I was tasked with integrating all of the information about the annual holiday luncheon, which is the biggest fundraiser for the club for the entire year with our campaign message of "Hope is Tougher".
One of the major activations that happened with the Hope is Tougher campaign was the Bullet Hole transplants. The glass block shown above was actually removed from the club itself and placed at the Tribune Tower where people could scan it and view the video. We were sure to make this a prominent place on the site highlighting the video.
At the beginning of the campaign, a group of kids from the club was photographed in-house and interviewed. I found these quotes so inspiring, I was sure to integrate them into the website and print design wherever possible. On the Meet the Kids page, a photo of each kid is visible. Upon hovering over the photos, you can view a quote from the kid. When you click on that, a modal appears featuring the full photo and quote.
In order to highlight the event location as well as showcase Chicago since this club is unique to our city, I included stylized pieces of Chicago throughout the site. On this page, we include all information that the user user will need as well as ways to donate at the event and even if you won't be able to attend.
